On the 45 minute AFRICAN BUSH SAFARI, you'll experience an authentic African Photo Safari. Traveling with expert park guides, you can expect personal encounters with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and more. The park provides treats so you can feed the animals and maybe receive a gentle kiss from a giraffe. On nearby hills, you may spot prides of lions or other big cats overlooking their domain and the prey animals you are among.
The TIGER SPLASH show features spectacular water play between caretakers and tigers, showing natural, instinctual behavior. Tigers love water and you can watch them play and swim with the people who care for them.

Montezuma Castle
Camp Verde lies under the spectacular pine-clad cliffs of the Mogollon Rim of central Arizona and forms an immense biological transition between desert, grassland and forest vegetation zones.
Rising 100 feet above the Beaver Creek floodplain, Montezuma Castle National Park is a testimony to the resilience and innovations of a people called the "Sinagua," named after the Spanish after for the San Francisco Peaks, the "Sierra Sin Agua" - "the mountain without water." Montezuma Castle has been described as the best preserved and most dramatic cliff dwelling in the United States.
Location: I-17 at Highway 260 (exit 287) and go east toward Camp Verde turning onto Finnie Flat Road into downtown Camp Verde. Take Montezuma Castle Highway out of town and at the blinking light turn right to go to the Castle.

Fort Verde State Park
If you are a history buff or just starting to explore Arizona's past, you'll fine plenty to see and do at our parks in the Verde Valley. The Fort lies within the Town of Camp Verde and is the best preserved example of an Indian Wars period fort in Arizona. Spanning from 1865 through 1890 Camp Lincoln, Camp Verde and finally Fort Verde were home to officers, doctors, families, enlisted men, and scouts. Fort Verde was the primary base for General George Crook's U.S. Army scouts and soldiers.
The Fort is located just off of Main Street on Hollamon Street

Arcosanti
"As urban architecture, Arcosanti is probably the most important experiment undertaken in our lifetime."

Arcology is a term coined by Paolo Soleri to describe the concept of architecture and ecology working as one integral process to produce new urban habitats. Arcosanti is a prototype arcology under construction that when completed will house 5,000 people by combining compact urban structure with large-scale solar green houses on 25 acres of a 4,000 acre preserve. Arcosanti rises dramatically from basalt cliffs near Cordes Junction, 65 miles north of Phoenix.

Verde Canyon Railroad
Arizona's Longest-Running Nature Show
The remote wilderness of the Verde Canyon, located west of Sedona and below Jerome, is renowned for its towering red rock pinnacles and clean, green waters. The train rolls past Indian ruins, through a 680-foot man-made tunnel, over old-fashioned trestles and under clear azure skies. This picturesque setting is further enhanced by the variety of indigenous flora and fauna and the many migrating waterfowl. Over thirty bald and golden eagles winter in this riparian respite each year.
The Verde Canyon Railroad is often referred to as the finest train ride in Arizona and acclaimed as Arizona's longest-running nature show.
