Artists Reception

Artists Reception

An artists opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Verde Valley Archaeology Center’s address is 460 W. Finnie Flat Road, Camp Verde.

The Camp Verde Artists Group kicks off a new exhibit in collaboration with the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum in Camp Verde. The dates of the exhibition are February 7 through March 27, 2026. There will be an opening reception for the Camp Verde Artist Group’s exhibit at the museum on Saturday, February 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Museum admission will also be free on this day.

The featured artist is Leslie Koshland, who volunteers at the museum. Her art is certain to grab your heart and imagination with her whimsical, magical scenes. Koshland describes her art, “I have always had a love for art and tend to see the world in a different way. My Whimsie paintings are a new art style and journey for me. They are inspired by nature and intuitive line drawings … from a squiggle a character evolves. Whimsies are intended to make people smile – to carry them out of the pressures of this world and into a lighthearted realm, if only for a moment. The titles were created by my friend, Andrea Meyer, and help to enhance the playfulness of the pieces. It is all about the unexpected, fanciful and fun.”

Camp Verde Artist Group members who are also showing are Cindy S. Reay, E. L. Adams, Lacey Rather, Mary Rush (founder of the group), Merle Rose, Sally Reeves, and Zoe Reeves-Conway. Works included in the show are paintings and sculptures. The artwork varies in style and media offered by the artists, but has a consistent theme of the natural world around us. Colors pulse from dusty blues to brown to bright and dark reds, with yellows sparking light amongst all the colors. Prepare for a show that will captivate your eyes and senses.

Visitors may purchase works by the eight artists directly from the artists during the museum’s open hours, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please call the museum at (928) 567-0006 to confirm the hours. The gallery is closed to visitors during museum events. They are having an opening reception on Saturday, February 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Verde Valley Archaeology Center’s address is 460 W. Finnie Flat Road, Camp Verde.
