Tourism Working and Engagement Group Application

What is Tourism?

Tourism is the activity of people traveling to and exploring destinations outside their usual environment for leisure, recreation, culture, or business. In Camp Verde, tourism includes visitors who come to experience our rich history, outdoor recreation, local wineries and breweries, restaurants, cultural attractions, and community events. Tourism supports our local economy, celebrates our unique identity, and enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

Why Do We Have Tourism?

Tourism plays an important role in sustaining and growing Camp Verde’s economy. It creates jobs, supports small businesses, and brings new dollars into the community. Visitors help strengthen the local tax base, which allows the Town to invest in public services, parks, infrastructure, and community programs.

Beyond the economic benefits, tourism also encourages cultural exchange, pride of place, and the preservation of our natural and historic resources. Thoughtful, sustainable tourism helps ensure that Camp Verde remains a welcoming and vibrant destination for generations to come.
