Spring Events Calendar
Living History Day
January 17th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Join the Fort Verde Interpretive Association and take a step back in time and see what an army camp would have looked like here from 1871-1891. See historical artifacts from weapons (with demonstrations of course) to the food and games, there’s no better way to learn about history than by talking with our living history volunteers. There will be no additional cost for this event, regular admission applies.
Buffalo Soldiers Day February 21st from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Join the us as we pay tribute to the Buffalo Soldiers that were stationed here at the fort. There will be Living History Reenactments by the Fort Verde Interpretive Association, including weapons demonstrations. There will be no additional cost for this event, regular admission applies.
Mountain Man Days
Saturday, March 21st from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Sunday, March 22nd from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Join the Powderhorn Clan and Fort Verde Interpretive Association and find out what it was like to be a mountain man during the 1800’s. Did you know that many famous mountain men like Al Sieber, Kit Carson, and Jim Bridger were all Army Scouts? Learn about the knowledge that made these men excellent Scouts for the military, and what it took to survive here as a mountain man! No additional fee for the event, paid park admission is required.
History of the American Soldier
Saturday, April 11th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Sunday, April 12th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Attention History Buffs! Come experience history, from the Revolutionary War to present day with living historians walking you through the military timeline. See historical military vehicles, military drills, dutch oven cooking, flag ceremonies, and more! No additional fee for the event, park admission is required.
